Training Your Custom AI Voice
To kick off the process, go to “Settings → My Voice AI”. Once there, click on 'Get Started' to begin the setup. You'll have two options for training the AI with your voice:
- You can record directly through the microphone. You'll be given a script to read from. It's a bit quirky, but it's designed to capture a range of phonetic sounds, so your AI voice sounds natural.
- Alternatively, you can upload recordings you've already made. If you do this, make sure to upload clear audio of you speaking directly into the microphone.
It’s really that simple!
Writing AI Voicemail Scripts
To create a new AI voicemail script — go to settings, find 'Dialer', then find the 'Voicemail Scripts' section. You can create a new voicemail script, train the AI to mimic your voice, fine-tune any existing scripts, play them back, and scrap the ones you don’t like here.
How to Create a New AI Voicemail Script
- Hit 'New script'.
- Give it a title.
- Craft your message. Make sure to include the basics: your name, your company, why you're calling, etc.
- Click 'preview' to hear your AI voicemail — remember, it's going to be heard over a phone, not studio headphones, so consider that when listening.
- Finally, click 'Create', and you're all set.
Tips for Creating “Human Sounding” AI Voicemails
- Keep it casual with informal language.
- Sprinkle in a few 'uhs'—it's surprisingly effective.
- Use ellipses '...' to create natural pauses.
- It's all about iteration: listen, adjust, and repeat.
Enabling AI Voicemail Messages
To turn on AI voicemails, just click on "Voicemail" at the top of your Dialer. Flip the switch to "Yes," and you’re good to go.
Make sure to give your AI voicemail a quick test run by calling your own cell. Let it go to voicemail, and then listen to make sure your AI voicemail message is working.
